The Frog's Demise

This male Hooded Merganser (Lophodytes cucullatus) dove down under the ice ledge to the bank and came up with a nice-sized Northern Leopard Frog (Lithobates pipiens) meal; it was very cool to watch. However, I am a herp lover, so frogs getting eaten isn't my fav, but it's the nature of things.

Well, that was a fiesty frog, it certainly put up a fight, but his capture was way too overpowering, especially being cold, but non the less it fought the good battle but ended up down the gullet.

A little drink, and it's down.
